He Ye, Industrial Design Director of Guangdong Macro Gas Appliance Co., Ltd., stated that this was the first time the Macro team had designed a torch. Feeling the immense significance of this project, they wanted to create something unique, hoping for a highly recognizable design that would instantly convey its meaning without further explanation.

He Ye explained, "The final design of the torch, flame lamp, and flame basin is highly consistent with the visual design of the Games emblem. The design team optimized the torch based on ergonomics and the Lingnan climate."

The torch can withstand winds of up to 20 meters per second, maintaining a flame height between 250 and 400 mm. Even in bright sunlight, the flame remains bright and full. Extensive rain tests were conducted during the development phase to simulate sudden downpours during the torch relay to ensure the flame would not be extinguished.
